Former cricketer and commentator Navjot Singh Sidhu named Indian veteran Rohit Sharma as the captain of his Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 team of the tournament. The announcement was made on his YouTube channel after the conclusion of the 18th edition of the IPL.

The tournament wrapped up on June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lifted the prestigious trophy for the first time in their history.

Sidhu expressed his admiration for Rohit’s leadership and legacy while highlighting his five IPL titles, one T20 World Cup, and one Champions Trophy victory. He emphasized that once Rohit found his form, the Mumbai Indians (MI) looked like a completely different side. He also praised Rohit and Virat Kohli as the best openers in the white-ball format, pointing their experience at the top of the order.

Navjot Singh Sidhu’s IPL 2025 team of the tournament:

Rohit Sharma (C), Virat Kohli, Jos Buttler, Shreyas Iyer, Nicholas Pooran, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Noor Ahmad, Prasidh Krishna, Jasprit Bumrah, Josh Hazlewood.
