Pole vaulter is joined by Jemma Reekie, Lawrence Okoye and others in the Qatari capital on Friday

Molly Caudery will open her summer season at the Wanda Diamond League in Doha on Friday (May 16) when she takes on Olympic medallists Katie Moon of the United States and Alysha Newman of Canada among others.

Caudery, the 2024 world indoor champion, faces a tough field in Qatar which also includes Sandi Morris of the United States.

Other Brits in action include Amy Hunt in a women’s 100m that sees multiple global gold medallist Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica taking on fellow Jamaicans Natasha Morrison, Tia Clayton and Tina Clayton in addition to Swiss sprints star Mujinga Kambundji in the women’s 100m.

Jemma Reekie races in the 1500m against Kenyans Susan Ejore and Nelly Chepchirchir plus Adelle Tracey of Jamaica.

Lawrence Okoye is part of a strong men’s discus line-up that includes Matt Denny – the Australian who went No.2 on the world all-time list with 74.78m throw in Ramona in April – together with former world champions, Daniel Stahl of Sweden and Kristjan Ceh of Slovenia.

Okoye recently improved the British record to 70.76m, also in Ramona.

A couple of months after winning the world indoor 400m title in Nanjing, Amber Anning was due to face 2019 world champion Salwa Eid Naser, European indoor champion Lieke Klaver of the Netherlands and fellow Brit Laviai Nielsen. But Anning is a late withdrawal.

Elsewhere the Olympic 200m champion Letsile Tebogo returns to his No.1 event as he faces Aaron Brown of Canada and Americans Courtney Lindsey and Kyree King plus US-based South African Shaun Maswanganyi.

All eyes will be on the men’s high jump, too, with Olympic high jump champion Hamish Kerr as he takes on Qatari star Mutaz Barshim, the joint 2021 Olympic champion.

There is also a top-class men’s javelin with Neeraj Chopra of India facing Jakub Vadlejch of Czechia, Anderson Peters of Grenada, Keshorn Walcott of Trinidad and Tobagho, Julian Weber of Germany and Julius Yego of Kenya.

The women’s triple jump, meanwhile, features Olympic champion Thea LaFond of Dominica and Olympic silver medallist Shanieka Ricketts of Jamaica, plus world long jump champion Ivana Spanovic of Serbia, but it will be missing Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk after the Ukrainian was suspended for breaking anti-doping rules.
