Tate (20-9) last fought in December 2023, defeating Julia Avila via submission. She earned a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus for her efforts and snapped a two-fight skid. She’ll enter the fight against Santos ranked No. 10 in the division.
Santos (15-8, 1 NC) will make the walk to the octagon on May 3 coming off a decision win over Chelsea Chandler at UFC Vegas 95 last August. With the win over Chandler, Santos rebounded from three consecutive losses. “Foxy” is ranked No. 11 in the women’s 135-pound weight class.
The event takes place at Wells Fargo Arena and will mark the fight promotion’s debut in Des Moines. It will be the UFC’s first trip to Iowa since June 2000.
