The welterweight division should be on high notice tonight, with Michael Morales extending his unbeaten record with a stunning opening round knockout win over former title challenger, Gilbert Burns in their main event clash at UFC Vegas 106.
Morales, an alum of Dana White’s Contender Series, has so-far landed an impressive string of six consecutive victories since his move to the Octagon-proper back in 2022.
Last time out, the Ecuadorian would turn in a knockout win over Neil Magny, adding to prior notable successes in the organization against Max Griffin, and Jake Matthews.
And sure to likely eclipse Burns in the welterweight top-10 come next week, Morales did so in some breathtaking fashion. Splitting the guard of the Brazilian veteran with a massive right hook, Morales would follow up forcing a second knockdown, having cut Burns over his left eye.
