UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping had plenty of wars in the octagon but none of them involved mythical creatures or swords.

That all changes with Bisping’s latest acting role after scoring a starring part in the new Red Sonja remake that’s dropping in theaters on Aug. 15 and then on digital platforms on Aug. 19.

The movie stars Matilda Lutz in the lead role as the iconic “she-devil with a sword,” a character first created for Marvel Comics back in 1973 before eventually being adapted into a film of the same title starring Brigitte Nielsen in 1985.

The new Red Sonja film comes from director M.J. Bassett with Bisping scoring a prominent role in the film with his daughter Ellie Bisping also making an appearance in the movie.

Here’s the official synopsis for Red Sonja:

“Enslaved by an evil tyrant who wishes to destroy her people, barbarian huntress Red Sonja must unite a group of unlikely warriors to face off against Dragan The Magnificent and his deadly bride, Dark Annisia.”

Bisping pops up in the trailer a couple of times as a warrior named Hawk, who is backing up Red Sonja as she prepares to go into battle.

Check out the new trailer for Red Sonja and get ready for the film’s release in August.
