Micah Parsons Believes Sean McVay Deserves More Credit

Surprise call at fly-half as Waratahs name side for must-win Blues clash

The Los Angeles Rams have had an extremely successful and short rebuild in the years since winning the Super Bowl in the 2021 season. They had one injury-riddled down year in 2022, but head coach Sean McVay quickly turned L.A. back into perennial postseason contenders.

The Rams were not expected to make the postseason at all in 2023, but they did behind a strong bounce-back season from Matthew Stafford and almost defeated the Detroit Lions in Wild Card Weekend. In 2024, they took the cheapest and one of the youngest defenses in the league, and had them setting postseason records. They were the only team to lose by fewer than 10 points to the Philadelphia Eagles in their Super Bowl run.

And with all of that, Dallas Cowboys superstar Micah Parsons felt the need to speak on McVay’s behalf, crediting him for the way he’s kept the franchise in contention no matter what, via Bleacher Report Gridiron:

Parsons, despite playing for the Cowboys, is never afraid to show respect where it’s due to divisional or conference rivals. He simply respects great football and wants to see the game succeed above all else. And McVay, while known as one of the best coaches in football, may still be underrated.

The way he orchestrated the Rams’ turnaround from 2022 until now is truly astounding, and L.A. has the opportunity to only improve from here and find themselves among the elite of the NFC as their defense continues to grow.

Rams hopeful to receive fourth-rounder for Cooper Kupp

The Rams are expected to have an active offseason, with finding a trade partner for Cooper Kupp at the top of their list.

The 31-year-old announced that the team will attempt to trade him in the coming weeks. Kupp made it clear that he wanted to finish his career with L.A., but the franchise has decided to go in a different direction.

Kupp, who will be 32 next season, has two years remaining on his contract, with $5 million guaranteed in 2025. If the Rams choose to just cut him this offseason, they will save about $7.52 million against the salary cap.

According to recent, the Rams are hoping to get back a fourth-round draft pick in a potential trade for Kupp by paying down some of his salary, similar to the Kennan Allen trade from last offseason.
