With likely the lion’s share of free agents our Miami Dolphins are going to add this offseason being already added at this point,t I asked the following question in a previous post:

What area of the roster/positions would you still like to see your Miami Dolphins address before the draft via free agency? Beyond the specific area of the roster or position, do you have any players you believe the Dolphins should re-sign from their own list of free agents or another free agent still out there from another team that would be an excellent fit for this roster?

Below are some of your thoughts and answers-

finfanfromsiam says hi and wants a free agent addition from last season added back to the roster.

Calais Campbell and evening!

Julian Blackmon, S, Colts. It fits for zone, cover 2, and cover 3. Counting on injury-prone Ifeatu

dedstrk316 wants some more help for the defense that is not injury-prone.

We need to get a DL or an actual CB not an injury prone Artie Burns. If we can get one of those two I’d feel okay going into the draft. CC being the obvious choice for me. I’d also accept getting Julian Blackmon. Then we can go into the draft looking to select one or two of these positions in the first and second round.

Jptapt doesn’t believe the front office has addressed any position correctly up to this point.

I’m not sure any positions have been addressed adequately. Maybe some backup spots at best. As I said elsewhere, I don’t see anything yet that makes me think we are headed to the playoffs this year. Maybe it’s me, but I just don’t see it so far.

Dolfanjoe second’s Clark’s sentiment. And for my money, a past-his-prime Calais is still a damn good option.

Cambell ? He’s old and past his prime ! Certainly someone will tell him this and he will get his cane and just make it to the lounge chair ! Who wouldn’t want him on there team ? Get him signed and wait till the draft and the undrafted. Truly our only hope for the season !

cyberflea did not have an answer but did have some interesting information.

NFL.com Rank: 20 Among AFC Teams: 9

Analysis: After losing starters on both sides of the ball, the Dolphins have tried to patch those holes in the secondary and on the offensive line. But more than anything, it has been a steady drip of end-of-roster additions. (For example: New RB Alexander Mattison will presumably play a bit role in short-yardage situations, at best.) They’re preaching patience on South Beach, but it’s hard not to be more than a little concerned with the fact that a few starting jobs are up for grabs now, and we still don’t know if LT Terron Armstead will be back for another year. OL additions James Daniels and Larry Borom could both end up starting, and Miami still likely needs one more interior blocker. Both the O-line and secondary have me worried. I’m gonna try that patience thing, but the current state of this roster spawns anxiety.

Pro Football Focus Rank: 21 Among AFC Teams: 9

Analysis: Losing Jevon Holland is a significant blow to a Dolphins defense that ranked eighth in EPA allowed per drop back in 2024. Miami attempted to fill the void by signing Ifeatu Melifonwu, a promising young player who is still a downgrade from Holland. With a full season of Tua Tagovailoa under center, Miami’s offense should be more efficient. However, keeping him upright and healthy remains a priority. The signing of James Daniels provides a potential upgrade in protection, but he is coming off an Achilles injury suffered last September, leaving some uncertainty about his impact.

USA Today Rank: 21 Among AFC Teams: 9

Analysis: Question – what do you get when you tie up a ton of money into a quarterback and No. 2 receiver frequently short-circuited by injuries to go with an otherworldly (if often moody) WR1? Answer – Bengals South … which means the softer, less imposing version.

The Sporting News Rank: 20 Among AFC Teams: 9

Analysis: The Dolphins feel like they’re trying to lift Tua Tagovailoa as much as possible by not totally trusting him. They might not be able to do that with more of a defensive fade in store.

We didn’t receive the largest response, but it’s clear that there are needs you all feel still need to be addressed. Calais Campbell still appears to be a popular choice as a hopeful future addition. That guy, at his age, is amazing. I hope you are all having an excellent weekend, and as always, thank you to each of you who took the time to answer our daily questions.
