The Mexico boss carried out down the incident, saying it was not worth talking about.

“They [Honduras] deserved to win, they’ve been larger than us in areas,” said Aguirre.

The Mexican soccer federation condemned the behaviour, saying in an announcement that it had “no place in our sport”.

The assertion added: “We demand that Concacaf takes quick and decisive movement to take care of this matter.

“Soccer should be a celebration, not a battleground.”

Concacaf echoed the sentiment and confirmed the incident is perhaps referred to its disciplinary committee.

“The security of the teams and followers is a priority for Concacaf. These type of violent behaviors haven’t anywhere in soccer.”
