On Tuesday, the McLaren Formula 1 Team unveiled the striking livery of the MCL39 at The O2 in London as part of F175 Live, the official launch event of the 2025 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. This highly anticipated moment marked the latest chapter in McLaren’s storied history, offering fans a first glimpse of the car that will take on the upcoming season.

Following its track debut at Silverstone Circuit on 13 February, with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri behind the wheel, the MCL39 showcases an evolution of McLaren’s 2024 FIA Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship-winning livery. The 2025 design continues McLaren’s iconic papaya colour palette, seamlessly integrated with anthracite and a refined touch of teal—an homage to the team’s legacy of carrying forward its victorious livery elements.

A key highlight of the new livery is its refined aesthetic, which incorporates elements of the geometric camouflage design first seen in testing earlier this year. These design cues will also be featured on the drivers’ race suits, with a striking diagonal cut-through blending anthracite into the signature papaya. The result is a bold yet sophisticated look that embodies McLaren’s competitive spirit and championship pedigree.

McLaren’s roster of esteemed partners remains an integral part of the team’s success, with the 2025 livery proudly showcasing some of the world’s most recognizable brands. Their continued support plays a crucial role in the team’s ability to push the boundaries of performance and innovation, solidifying McLaren’s position at the forefront of Formula 1.

Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, said: “We’re delighted to have unveiled our superb 2025 livery for the MCL39, which our exciting driver line-up of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will take to the track. This marks a special moment in the year as we begin the defence of our FIA Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship title.

“In line with McLaren’s longstanding tradition, our 2025 design is a strong evolution of the title-winning livery. We’re now looking forward to getting the season underway and are extremely grateful for the continued support of our valuable partners and fantastic fans. Let’s go racing!”

Andrea Stella, Team Principal, McLaren F1, added: “The unveiling of the new MCL39 livery is another key milestone in our journey to go racing this season and follows on from the team’s incredibly hard work and commitment towards our 2025 challenger.

“While we anticipate increased competitiveness across the grid in this final year of the current regulations, we have worked tirelessly to ensure we hit the ground running. Our goal remains clear: to consistently fight for podiums and race wins in the 2025 FIA Formula 1 Championship.

“I want to express my gratitude to the entire McLaren team for their dedication, as well as to our commercial partners and passionate fans who played a vital role in last season’s championship-winning campaign. The collaboration with Mercedes HPP continues to be invaluable, and with our collective effort, we are confident in our ability to perform at the highest level this season.”

Lando Norris, Driver, McLaren F1, shared his enthusiasm: “It’s great to see the new 2025 livery, which builds on last year’s championship-winning colours, and I’m sure our fans will love the tradition embedded in the design. I can’t wait to hit the track in Bahrain for testing.

“Having spent my entire Formula 1 career with McLaren, winning the Constructors’ Championship last season was a huge achievement. The hunger for more success remains stronger than ever, and I’m excited to take that momentum into 2025 as we push to compete for both championships.”

Oscar Piastri, Driver, McLaren F1, expressed his excitement for the season ahead: “Last year was a really positive second season for me and the team, and it’s fantastic to see the new livery carry forward the essence of our 2024 championship-winning design. This season promises to be an exciting one, and racing the MCL39 for the first time in front of my home crowd in Melbourne will be a truly special moment.

“I’ve put in a lot of hard work during the off-season and approach the new year with a great deal of optimism. I have full confidence that we can build on last season’s success and create even more incredible moments together with McLaren.”

As McLaren gears up for the 2025 season, anticipation is at an all-time high. With a strong car, a talented driver lineup, and the unwavering support of their partners and fans, the team is poised to continue their pursuit of excellence in Formula 1.
