The second unofficial Test between India A and England Lions ended in a draw as no result could be achieved after four days of cricket in Northampton. India A resumed the final day on 163, with Nitish Kumar Reddy and Dhruv Jurel at the crease.

Reddy survived an early danger when a length delivery from Josh Tongue found the edge of his bat, and Tom Haines at first slip dropped a regulation chance. The breakthrough came soon after when Eddie Jack bowled a length ball outside off stump. Jurel edged it, and James Rew took a sharp catch to his right. This was the first time on the tour that Jurel fell short of a half-century.

After Jurel’s dismissal, Reddy and Shardul Thakur raised the scoring rate. Reddy showcased his attacking intent by slog-sweeping Farhan for a six, taking India A’s lead past the 250-run mark. But, just before lunch, George Hill cleaned up Reddy with a delivery that seamed in from outside off and knocked over the middle stump. At the lunch break, India A led by 289 runs.

In the second session, Tanush Kotian and Anshul Kamboj batted aggressively. The duo added quick runs, with Kotian reaching his 16th first-class half-century by smashing a no-ball from Ben McKinney to the boundary. The scoring spree took the lead past 350.

Kamboj also reached his fifty off 82 balls. India A dominated the session, without losing a wicket and reaching 417 by Tea. India A declared during the tea interval, setting England Lions a target of 439. Kotian scored an unbeaten 90 and Kamboj was at the crease with him at 51.

England Lions began their second innings with Tom Haines and Ben McKinney. India A’s Anshul Kamboj provided a slight hope, picking up two wickets in a single over, Emilio Gay edged one behind the stumps, while Jordan Cox was bowled after getting an outside edge. England Lions finished at 32/3 as the match was called off, resulting in a draw.
