The ITF Masters Tour is in full swing and, just like the professional circuit, Canadians have already started collecting trophies in 2025. So far since the calendar flipped, three trophies have ended up in Canadian hands.
Here is the monthly Masters tennis update by Abrysvo.
Keith Porter, age 72, got off to a flying start in 2025, winning both the singles and doubles titles at an MT400 event in Glasgow, Scotland.
In the 70+ singles, he was the second seed and did not drop a set on his way to the title. The most games he lost in a match was five, in his quarter-final victory over Brit Myles Collett. Porter beat three seeds in his title run: No. 6 Collet, No. 3 Alan Rayner in the semifinals and top seed Jasper Cooper 6-1, 6-3 in the final.
The singles title was Porter’s 26th in his career and extended his title streak to 14 years, having won at least one every year since 2012.
He teamed up with Collett to take the 70+ doubles title, also without dropping a set. The pair were the top seeds and beat an all-British pair, Rob Rue and Michael Webster, 6-2, 6-2 in the final. The title was the 21st doubles title for Porter and he now has a five-year title streak in that discipline.

On this side of the Atlantic, Barry Goman won the 70+ doubles title at the MT400 event in Fort Myers alongside American Jan Bortner. The pair only needed to win two matches to claim the title but dominated both, losing a combined four games on their way to the title.
The title is the fourth for Gorman but his first outside of Canada. He won a pair of ITFs last year in Southern Ontario, an MT700 in Mississauga and an MT400 in London. All of Goman’s titles, including in Fort Myers, have come on clay.
