While all of Europe’s elite might have entered a fortnight interval due to March’s international break, we do have an eye-catching night of National League action on the cards.
With it looking like this battles at both ends of the table could go right down to the wire, we have some hugely important fifth-tier battles on the cards across Tuesday night.
For those of you looking to stick on a midweek flutter, we have taken a glance at two of the most attractive National League betting tips.
19:45 FC Halifax vs Dagenham & Redbridge
While Halifax might have suffered play-off frustration last season, Tuesday’s hosts certainly haven’t shown any signs of a hangover this time around. Continuing to receive a string of plaudits, Chris Millington’s men are enjoying what has become a real purple patch. Last seen over the weekend putting in another dominant display as they cruised their way to a 3-0 romp away at Sutton, the Yorkshire-based outfit will be smelling the chance to lay down another marker here. In fact, getting March underway with a 2-1 win against Forest Green, Halifax have won each of their previous three National League appearances by an aggregate score of 6-1. Unbeaten in all of their last six outings, Millington’s side have also gained a reputation for their extended success on home soil. Last seen at The Shay landing a 1-0 victory against Yeovil, the Blues have registered 10 points from their last four National League showdowns in Yorkshire.
Enduring what has been a National League crisis since opening the New Year, Dagenham & Redbridge suddenly find themselves at the heart of a relegation scrap. Travelling to Yorkshire on Tuesday night with just their goal difference keeping them outside the drop zone, Lewis Young’s side have continued to show some glaring issues. Putting in another worrying performance over the weekend as they slumped to a 3-1 loss at home against Tamworth, the Daggers have collected just a single point from any of their previous four National League appearances. Getting March underway with another 3-1 defeat at the hands of Boston United, the midweek guests have remarkably failed to win any of their previous 13 consecutive fifth-tier appearances – a rut that stems all the way back to New Year’s Day. Likewise, Dagenham & Redbridge have recorded just a sole National League win on their travels since way back in September.

19:45 Altrincham vs Wealdstone
While Altrincham might have their sights firmly set on punching another play-off ticket this season, the Robins are enduring what has become an extended rut. Putting in another worrying performance over the weekend as they fell to a 2-1 loss at home against Aldershot, the Manchester-based outfit are desperately seeking a crucial National League boost here. However, with their recent issues underlined by a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Rochdale on March 11th, they have lost each of their previous three appearances by an aggregate score of 7-2. In fact, claiming a 2-1 victory away at York City earlier in the month, Altrincham have lost each of their other five showdowns against National League opposition. Slipping out of the play-off places, Tuesday’s hosts have also shown some rather glaring defensive struggles. It is worth highlighting, the Robins have conceded seven goals in just their last three matchups at Moss Lane across all competitions.
Although Wealdstone might have signed off February with a stellar three-match winning run, the Stones have largely come crashing back down to earth. Despite mounting what was an astonishing second-half comeback against Eastleigh over the weekend as they eventually snatched a 3-3 stalemate on home soil, Neil Gibson’s men have clinched just a single point from their previous three National League appearances. Suffering consecutive 4-1 drumming against Rochdale and Tamworth earlier in the month, Tuesday’s guests have shown their own worrying issues at the back. Remarkably shipping 11 goals on their three-match winless rut, Wealdstone have failed to record a sole clean sheet from any of their previous 14 consecutive appearances across all competitions – a run that stems all the way back to December 21st. With the Royals seeing each of their last six outings finish with both teams finding the net, we are expecting a similar outcome.
