Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is reportedly poised to seal a move to the Saudi Pro League during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Onana’s tenure at United has been marred by a string of high-profile errors, casting a constant shadow of uncertainty over his performances.
He has faced yet another challenging season, sparking speculation that United may seek a more reliable replacement.
A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Onana has no intention of departing Old Trafford as United are the only club he wishes to play for.
More recently, it was claimed the Cameroonian is confident he retains the backing and support of Ruben Amorim.
However, The Sun now reveal that the Red Devils are prepared to sell him and have even identified two potential replacements.
According to the newspaper, “Manchester United’s Andre Onana looks set for Saudi Arabia leaving Ruben Amorim eyeing two of Europe’s hottest young keepers.”
It’s understood that the goalkeeper position is not one United planned to address in the summer but Onana’s howlers have made it necessary. As such, if Saudi’s interest in the 28-year-old materialises, Amorim “would make it a priority.”
Among the plethora of shot-stoppers that United have been linked to over the past few weeks and months, The Sun states that Royal Antwerp’s Senne Lammens and Lille’s Lucas Chevalier are the club’s main targets.
United are likely to face stiff competition from Manchester City for Lammens and Chevalier. Both Manchester clubs have scouted the two goalkeepers extensively and are eyeing them.
Lammens is rated at £30m while Lille are believed to want £40m to sanction Chevalier’s exit.
Lammens’ and Chevalier’s contracts with their respective clubs both expire in 2027.
