Eberechi Eze transfer: Chelsea eyeing Palace star

Manchester United are growing increasingly confident of securing the signing of 22-year-old striker Liam Delap from relegated Ipswich Town — edging out competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

According to TBR Football, the Red Devils believe Delap prefers a move back to Manchester, where he previously developed at Manchester City. Despite interest from Chelsea — who could offer a reunion with ex-City coach Enzo Maresca and former teammate Cole Palmer — Delap is reportedly leaning towards joining United, marking a significant boost to their summer transfer plans.

Amorim Targets No.9 Overhaul

New manager Ruben Amorim is eyeing a complete reshuffle in the No.9 role after Rasmus Hojlund’s inconsistent displays. United had initially targeted big names like Viktor Gyökeres, a player Amorim knows well from his time at Sporting CP. However, with Arsenal leading that particular race, attention has now shifted to more realistic alternatives — with Delap topping the list.

The young striker impressed last season despite Ipswich’s relegation, scoring 12 goals in the top flight and catching the eye of several clubs. His physicality, pressing ability, and Premier League experience make him an ideal fit for Amorim’s high-energy system.

Double Swoop Incoming?

Manchester United’s summer rebuild could also see the arrival of Matheus Cunha alongside Delap. If both deals materialise, Amorim could boast a dynamic and revitalised frontline for the upcoming campaign — a clear signal of intent from Old Trafford.
