Manchester United target Jobe Bellingham is set for Premier League football next season whether or not his Sunderland side win the play-offs, with the Red Devils reportedly one of several top-flight clubs looking to sign him.

The brother of Real Madrid superstar Jude, Jobe is tipped to go to the top in his own right, and it seems that United’s long-standing interest in the player has not gone away.

TEAMtalk claim that they are one of six Premier League clubs interested in the 19-year-old and would have to do battle with Brighton and Hove Albion, Brentford, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea for his signature.

But a stay at the Black Cats cannot be ruled out, with the north-east side in the frame for a position in the Championship play-offs.

It is suggested that should they be successful they may be able to hang on to their prize asset, who has four goals and three assists in 34 league appearances this season.

Either way, Bellingham seems set for the top-flight and “would be keen to move and play at the highest level” should Sunderland miss out on promotion.

His current employers, unsurprisingly, “will not engage in any transfer noise” right now and will demand “a high fee” for the youngster.

They hold all the cards given that Bellingham’s current contract runs until summer 2028.

Despite naming five other clubs the report implies that United are in a particularly strong position, having been “continuously monitoring and tracking his progress.”

This tallies with previous reports covered by The Peoples Person that the Red Devils have sent scouts to watch his performances as they look for alternatives to aging midfield duo Casemiro and Christian Eriksen.

TEAMtalk add that Chelsea and Spurs are “two clubs to watch”, noting that Spurs in particular are keen to add more youngsters to their squad.

The Red Devils were desperately keen on his brother, supposedly bidding €120m to bring him in before his inevitable move to Real Madrid, having already missed out on him when he left Birmingham City for Borussia Dortmund.
