Manchester City are reportedly considering a summer move for Tottenham Hotspur’s promising left-back, Destiny Udogie, as Pep Guardiola looks to reinforce his defensive options ahead of the 2025/26 season.
According to Fabrizio Romano via Give Me Sport, City have identified the 22-year-old Italian international as a potential solution to their left-back conundrum. With Sergio Gomez having departed and Josko Gvardiol playing out of position for much of the current campaign, a natural left-back is a top priority for the reigning Premier League champions.
Udogie’s Rise and Spurs Spell
Udogie, who began his professional journey at Hellas Verona before making a name for himself at Udinese, joined Tottenham in 2023. Despite moments of brilliance, consistency has eluded the Verona-born defender. He’s made over 50 appearances for Spurs, contributing two goals and four assists, but has yet to firmly cement himself as a first-choice starter.
Still, his dynamic style and attacking threat from deep have attracted attention across Europe — with Manchester City now seriously monitoring his situation.
Will Spurs Let Udogie Go?
Tottenham’s stance on a potential sale remains uncertain. However, City are keeping their options open, also tracking Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso. Should Spurs be willing to negotiate, City could make a compelling offer that turns Udogie’s head ahead of a potential blockbuster move within the Premier League.
