Leeds United urged to sign Japhet Tanganga on a bargain

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has suggested that Marcus Rashford should consider a move to Newcastle United this summer, as the forward’s future at Manchester United remains uncertain.

Wright believes that a partnership between Rashford and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak could be formidable.

Following his fall-out with manager Ruben Amorim, Rashford was allowed to leave the Red Devils for a move to Aston Villa on loan in the winter transfer window.

The 27-year-old was criticised a number of times by the Man United boss which forced the English attacker to express his desire of a move away from the club.

After joining Aston Villa, Rashford has regained his form and scored four goals for Aston Villa along with providing six assists in 17 appearances.

Wright has tipped the Man United outcast to leave the club permanently this summer and consider a move to Carabao Cup winners Newcastle United.

Wright said on the Ringer FC podcast, as reported by GOAL:

“It’s the kind of signing Newcastle should be making.

“That would be amazing. That would be dangerous. Rashford at Newcastle? Yeah. That would be really good. I really like that for Rashford. Rashford at Newcastle can be dangerous.”

Villa hold a £40 million option to make the move permanent, but Rashford’s desire to play in the Champions League may influence his decision.

United are reportedly open to selling Rashford this summer to fund new transfers and reduce their wage bill, as he earns £365,000 per week with three years remaining on his contract.

Eddie Howe would love to have a player like Rashford in his team who can play in any position in attack.

A signing like Rashford would add depth to the squad and bring experience to the club. Howe is looking to add depth to his wide attacking position and Rashford would be the ideal fit for his team.
