Why is Jobe Bellingham going to Borussia Dortmund?

Bruno Fernandes recently ended speculation over his Manchester United future this summer by rejecting a multi-million pound offer to join the Saudi Pro League.

The United captain is adored by the Old Trafford faithful and has enhanced his status by turning down the eye watering offer that looked hard to refuse.

One high profile United fan who will be delighted with Bruno’s decision is Darts superstar Luke Littler, after he recently heaped praise on the skipper.

Littler was quizzed on whether he would swap Fernandes for a raft of high profile midfielders around Europe and was staunch in his response to each and every one of them.

The TalkSPORT interviewer gave Little the choice of superstar names including Jude Bellingham, Florian Wirtz, Kevin de Bruyne and Cole Palmer but stood firm on ranking Fernandes at the top of the tree.

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, Manchester City’s Phil Foden and Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala were also dismissed out of hand by the Darts sensation.

Littler signed off by labelling the United man “world class”, a statement that is now hard to deny after another outstanding individual campaign.

Fernandes’ stock has somehow risen in spite of United’s horrendous season, which would have been inconceivably worse had it not been for the efforts of the 30-year-old.

Bruno admitted he was tempted to call it a day at Old Trafford but conversations with the club and his family led him to feel his future lies in Manchester, for the short term at least.

However, United will need to show some serious improvements next season to keep and attract world class talents such as Fernandes with last year’s 15th place finish rocking Old Trafford to its core.

Ruben Amorim will be hoping his main man comes out of the international fixtures unscathed in order for him to get some well earned rest and recuperation before reporting back for pre-season training next month.
