Liverpool are interested in signing Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window, according to Empire of the Kop. The report has claimed that the Merseyside club are planning to make a bid of £51.1 million for the Netherlands international, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.
It has been reported that Liverpool manager Arne Slot is confident that the presence of his Dutch compatriots Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo will convince Simons to make the switch to Anfield this summer. However, the Merseyside club’s opening bid of £51 million for Simons could be rejected, as RB Leipzig value the 22-year-old between £59.6m and £68.1m.
Liverpool have already won the Premier League title this season, while Leipzig find themselves sixth in the Bundesliga table with 50 points from 32 matches, just two points behind fourth-placed Freiburg.
