Liverpool have rejected a bid from Bayern Munich for winger Luis Diaz.
The Bundesliga champions offered £58.6million, according to the Athletic, for the Colombia international which was dismissed out of hand by Liverpool.
The Merseysiders are not interested in selling Diaz, who played a key role in their Premier League title success last season with 13 goals in 36 appearances.
Diaz joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 and has swiftly become one of the club’s most dependable players.
He is, however, 28 years of age and there will be a price at which Liverpool could be tempted to cash in, particularly as he has two years left on his contract and has indicated he is eager to move on.
Barca also keen on Diaz
Barcelona are also thought to hold an interest in the player, particularly after being snubbed by Nico Williams, who opted to sign a new deal at Athletic Bilbao rather than move to Catalonia.
Liverpool remain in the market for an out-and-out striker – a position Diaz had to occupy on occasion last season – with doubts persisting about Darwin Nunez.
They hold an interest in Newcastle’s Alexander Isak but the Saudi-backed Magpies are unlikely to sell.
The Reds have signed Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen but he plays in a more withdrawn role.
