Liverpool are interested in signing Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona in the summer transfer window, according to Fichajes. The report has revealed that Liverpool, who have won the Premier League title this season, are planning to make a bid of €40million for the Netherlands international midfielder.
The report has claimed that Liverpool’s Premier League rivals, Arsenal and Manchester City, are also monitoring the situation of De Jong. Liverpool manager Arne Slot believes that De Jong would fit into his system at Anfield perfectly and is keen on working with him at Anfield.
De Jong has been at Barcelona since 2019 and is under contract at the Spanish club until the summer of 2026. The midfielder has scored two goals and given two assists in 40 appearances for Hansi Flick’s side so far this season. Barcelona are four points clear of second-placed and defending champions Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table right now.
