Lamine Yamal wants Barcelona to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, as per reports.
After being pushed out of Old Trafford by Ruben Amorim, who had concerns over his attitude, Rashford has found his form again at Aston Villa. The Englishman has impressed with his pace and link-up ability, notching four goals and six assists in 17 appearances for the Lions.
Despite enjoying his time under Unai Emery, Rashford has shown little desire to continue in Birmingham, as his dream destination is Barcelona.
According to El Nacional, Rashford’s departure from United this summer is “practically a done deal.”
The 27-year-old believes Barcelona’s style of play suits him, and he is reportedly prioritising the La Liga leaders over other suitors.
Key figures at Barca, including Lamine Yamal and Hansi Flick, are also thought to be keen on bringing the England international to Camp Nou.
The Catalan outlet claim that Yamal “loves the idea” of playing alongside Rashford. The Spaniard was “informally asked” by the coaching staff about his possible arrival.
It is added that Barcelona’s jewel, who is also one of the best players in Europe, believes that Rashford’s presence in their squad would be a “significant leap in quality” for them.
There’s a feeling that the United academy product could prove to be a difference maker in big games.
Flick is also understood to be Rashford’s admirer and sees him as a winger who can also act as a second striker.
However, Barcelona’s financial predicament could make things tricky, as United are expected to demand around £40 million for their left-winger’s permanent transfer.
The Spanish outfit are exploring different options, including an initial loan deal to get the deal over the line and pair Rashford with Yamal.
