Here’s the latest Knicks news and buzz ahead of the Feb. 6 NBA trade deadline…

The Knicks are in the market for a big man, and two of their potential targets are reportedly off the board.
According to multiple reports, the Washington Wizards have traded Jonas Valanciunas to the Sacramento Kings for Sidy Cissoko and two second-round picks.
Earlier Wednesday, the New Orleans Pelicans dealt center Daniel Theis and draft compensation to the Oklahoma City Thunder per reports.
Both Valaniunas and Theis were names mentioned by SNY’s Ian Begley that the Knicks checked in on. In addition to those two names, the Knicks are also looking at Guerschon Yabusele from the Philadelphia 76ers.
With the trade deadline set for Thursday afternoon, opportunities to make a deal for a center is becoming slimmer for the Knicks.

The Knicks are looking at potential depth pieces at the deadline and are among many teams to have checked in on Philadelphia 76ers big man Guerschon Yabusele, according to SNY’s Ian Begley.
The Sixers aren’t necessarily looking to move Yabusele, per Begley, but the power forward from France is having a strong season in Philly, averaging 10.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and two assists per game. A power forward by trade, Yabusele has played 44 games at center for the Sixers due to injuries.
Begley points out that the Sixers will have to send its 2025 first-round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder if they fall out of the top six and could be incentivized to lose. Philly is currently 19-27, 11th in the Eastern Conference.

With Mitchell Robinson’s status unknown, are the Knicks willing to trade him for the right asking price? SNY’s Ian Begley wrote that that is his read on the situation in his mailbag earlier this week.
“I don’t know what their asking price would be for Robinson. But I do know that the Knicks front office doesn’t like to trade players at their lowest value,” Begley wrote. “Because of the injury situation, I don’t think they’d get much back for Robinson right now.”
