The Sacramento Kings do not currently hold a pick in the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft. Sacramento sent their pick to the Atlanta Hawks, as a result of the Kevin Huerter trade in 2022. That lack of a pick has the Kings looking to get into the first round.
NBA Draft analyst Rafael Barlowe said in an appearance on Sactown Sports 1140 that the Kings have been “aggressive” in trying to acquire a first-round pick. One player Sacramento may be targeting is guard Jase Richardson of Michigan State.
Richardson is the son of former NBA star Jason Richardson. In his lone season with the Spartans, the 6-foot-3 guard averaged 12.1 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists. Richardson also put up 49/41/84 shooting splits as a freshman at Michigan State.
