Arsenal report: Viktor Gyokeres has chosen Gunners following talks

Manchester United have lost Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans, and their backline could do with some quality replenishment this summer.

Add their losses to the fact that Lisandro Martinez could be set for a positional change, and both Luke Shaw and Matthijs de Ligt are injury-prone, and it makes sense to strengthen in defence.

A lot will depend on the funds at INEOS’ disposal, but TBR Football have revealed that a long-term club target has been made available this transfer window.

It is well known that the Red Devils tried to sign Kim Min-jae when he was at Napoli only for Bayern Munich to win the race by paying £51 million back in 2023.

Kim Min-jae back on United’s radar

The South Korean has not had the best of times in the Bundesliga, and the league champions are open to his departure on a loss with plenty of Premier League clubs interested.

Bayern have recruited Jonathan Tah on a Bosman deal from Bayer Leverkusen, and are open to the centre-back’s departure.

The report mentions how the 28-year-old has always dreamt of playing in the English top-flight, and his services have been “offered” to English clubs, and this could suggest a move to these shores is on the cards.

“Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle have all been made aware that Min-jae Kim could be available this summer.

“Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and the Saudi Pro League are interested in the defender who is the most expensive Asian player of all time.

South Korean dreaming of PL move

“However, we are told that Kim has long held a desire to play in the Premier League, and now contact has been made with a number of clubs.

“Bayern are believed to be willing to do a deal and would be willing to talks terms, which would see them taking some sort of loss on the player.”

Once INEOS recruit a striker will they focus on other areas and a move for the South Korea international will depend on player sales.

He would be a quality addition but other teams might have an advantage in terms of finances. It will be interesting to see where he lands up eventually.
