Khalil Rountree Jr. got here up quick in his first title shot at UFC 307, shedding to champion Alex Pereira late within the fourth spherical.  Rountree Jr. had exhibiting.  The title bout earned ‘Battle of the Night time’ honors.

Whereas Rountree did not stroll away with the UFC 205-pound strap, he did stroll away with a ton of expertise and in line with former two-division middleweight titleholder Israel Adesanya, Rountree Jr.’s inventory went up even in defeat.

Rountree Jr. addressed the knockout loss to Pereira in a social media put up the place he praised Pereira and promised to return even higher.    

“I didn’t win the title however I grew final evening. @alexpoatanpereira thanks for serving to me see that I’m able to tackle the world. You confirmed superb ability, you introduced out a model of me that I wanted to expertise. You’re the champ for a purpose, a lot respect. However I now know what I’m able to,” Rountree Jr. wrote on Instagram.

“Brazil, you guys have a robust champion, be proud. I’ll take time to heal from this, I’ll be again even higher, it’s inevitable,” Rountree Jr. continued.  “I’m grateful. By no means surrender on your self, at all times combat arduous, uplift your communities and discover methods to take advantage of out of life.”
