Justin Langer gives extremely animated pep-talk
Langer is regarded as a great coach, and under him, the Lucknow Super Giants have had a decent amount of success in the Indian Premier League 2025.
Despite not having a good bowling attack, the Lucknow Super Giants have managed to win four out of six matches with their batting unit doing the heavy lifting.
The environment in the LSG camp has been very positive and the credit for that goes to the coach Justin Langer and skipper Rishabh Pant.
Talking about Langer, he has the reputation of being strict, but in the Indian Premier League, a different version of him has been seen. Justin Langer has shown his fun side, and it was at full display ahead of the LSG vs CSK clash in the Indian Premier League 2025.
Justin Langer was seen giving an extremely animated pep-talk in the team huddle. He was then seen grabbing an LSG by his jersey and dragging him in the middle before making animated gestures. Then, he shared a fun moment with David Miller, Abdul Samad, and Nicholas Pooran in the huddle.
That pep-talk seems to have charged up the players a lot as Nicholas Pooran was seen shoulder-bumping his teammates. Pooran was also seen shoulder-bumping Rishabh Pant, who fired back with one of his own. Notably, everything that happened was in a lighthearted manner, as Justin Langer himself told the broadcasters that he was just having fun with the players.

We just want to stay patient – Nicholas Pooran
Nicholas Pooran, who failed to play a good knock and only managed to score 8 runs against Chennai Super Kings, spoke to broadcasters ahead of the match.
He said that he tries to adapt to the conditions quickly and express himself while batting. Pooran also wanted his team to focus on the process rather than thinking about results. He elaborated:
“[Key to his success] Just understanding the conditions is my job. To bat at number 3 and express myself. I’m really happy that I could continue.
“[Confidence from last game] Not only against GT but other games. We’re going strength to strength. Things are falling in place. We just want to stay patient. We are not there yet but we have a lot of things that will go on.
“[On chances of going on top of the table] Definitely a good opportunity to get 2 points again but I just see the colours are yellow already. The focus isn’t on our side but we have to focus on what we have done as a group and hopefully the results will take care of itself.”
