Jurgen Klopp‘s resolution to take his job as head of worldwide soccer for Crimson Bull has left Kevin Grosskreutz, his former participant at Dortmund, “shocked and unhappy.”

Klopp will finish his sabbatical at first of 2025 to start his new place as head of worldwide soccer for the Crimson Bull group.

Becoming a member of Crimson Bull has been seen a massively controversial in his native Germany, significantly amongst these linked to his former membership, Borussia Dortmund.

Amongst these is Grosskreutz, the right-back who made 236 appearances beneath Klopp over six seasons – the 14th-most used participant in his total teaching profession.

Talking on his Viertelstunde Fußball podcast, through BuLi Information, the 36-year-old insisted that whereas Klopp remained his “pal,” he believes “it’s shit that he does one thing like that.”

“I wakened, I had 30 messages on my cellphone and I assumed: what occurred? I assumed I used to be dreaming, then I hoped it was faux information,” Grosskreutz recalled of first listening to the information.

“Two hours later it was official. It was fairly surprising and unhappy. Someway it hasn’t actually sunk in but.

“I don’t assume anybody was anticipating it. It’s very, very unusual and I can’t actually understand it but. It’s like shock!

“However, he’s a pal of mine and I owe him lots. And I’ll at all times be grateful to him.

“As a soccer fan, I feel it sucks, to place it bluntly! However as a pal, you must settle for choices being made.

“After we meet, I’ll nonetheless inform him personally that I feel it’s shit that he does one thing like that!”

Not solely is Klopp taking on a job on the head of a multi-club mannequin – with Crimson Bull explaining that he’ll oversee their “worldwide community” – however he’s now affiliated with Dortmund’s fashionable rivals RB Leipzig.

It was a shock resolution from the previous Liverpool boss, who has defined that it was “nonetheless the case” that he not noticed himself as a supervisor.

“However I nonetheless love soccer and I nonetheless love working,” he stated. “Crimson Bull provides me the right platform for that.”

That has sullied his fame in Dortmund to say the least, with the announcement coming a month after he returned to his former membership to handle a testimonial for Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski.

Grosskreutz’s feedback say all of it relating to how he’s considered, although he’s at the least capable of separate Klopp the person from Klopp the skilled.
