Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday appears to be tending in the right direction with his strained hamstring. Holiday took part in practices this week, leading up to the Celtics opening their second round series against the New York Knicks on Monday.
“He was able to do everything that we worked on. Getting better every day,” Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said about Holiday’s participation this week.
Holiday strained his right hamstring at some point in Boston’s Game 2 victory over the Orlando Magic in the first round. The veteran guard then missed the next three games, as the Celtics defeated the Magic in five games.
Al Horford started in place of Holiday for Games 3-5 in the first round. Boston will release their first injury report for Game 1 of the second round on Sunday.
