Jorge Masvidal is happy with the brand new BMF champion.

This previous weekend, Max Holloway claimed the honorary title with a spectacular last-second knockout of Justin Gaethje at UFC 300. And Masvidal, who gained the inaugural BMF title by stopping Nate Diaz at UFC 244 in 2019, couldn’t be happier about it.

“It’s so superior that Max has it proper now,” Masvidal stated on The MMA Hour. “I couldn’t consider a greater motherf***** to carry it. That’s a BMF. He understands the code of the BMF. One in all us right here needs to be not on their ft when this bell rings.

“It’s the best f****** factor ever. And after going by way of that battle, such as you stated, he’s up worst-case situation 3-2. He’s f****** clearly profitable the struggle in my ebook. Gaethje had some moments, however he was by no means in management or profitable the struggle. So for him to try this, that little level — when that dude factors on the floor, whoever the f*** you’re, change into an Olympic monitor sprinter. Do the other. Don’t f****** have interaction. He’s everyone’s favourite fighter. He’s all fighters’ favourite fighter. I’ve at all times cherished Max.”

However whereas Masvidal is a fan of Holloway, the identical can’t be stated for the person Holloway took the belt off of. Gaethje famously beat Masvidal’s American High Workforce teammate Dustin Poirier to assert the BMF title, and afterward, Masvidal steered a matchup between the 2 if he returns to MMA. Gaethje didn’t take too kindly to Masvidal’s suggestion, and even took a number of pictures at Masvidal and his losses to Kamaru Usman. And though Gaethje not has the BMF belt, Masvidal remains to be keen on a struggle.

“The man is like f****** Homer Simpson,” Masvidal stated. “I don’t need to speak an excessive amount of s*** about him as a result of he simply received f****** flat-lined. I’m hoping our paths cross within the UFC. This may be an excellent comeback struggle for me. Simple struggle for me. He’s actually simply strolling ahead, consuming pictures, no head motion, no nothing. It’s undoubtedly a man I’d like to f****** stick my fist by way of.”

Regardless of the tough phrases, Masvidal insists that there’s no beef with Gaethje. He merely thinks “The Spotlight” can be a very good opponent for his return from retirement.

“Nothing private,” Masvidal continued. “Clearly he looks like he’s a little bit private that I make picks and stuff, however I’d like to bust f****** Gaethje’s face up. Let him heal from this as a result of he may by no means come again the identical. That was a conflict that he went by way of, and on high of that he received f****** executed. So Gaethje can say regardless of the f*** he needs, however I’m not giving a f*** about it. But when our paths do cross paths? I’d gentle that motherf***** up.”

Masvidal retired from MMA in 2023 however ended that retirement in January, although a return to the cage remains to be unsure. Within the meantime, “Gamebred” has a unique struggle on the horizon as he faces Nate Diaz in a 10-round boxing match on June 1 on the Kia Discussion board in Inglewood, Calif.
