Fans are still waiting for news on Jon Jones’s next fight, but a new offer has been presented that could sway the UFC heavyweight king’s mind.
Many believe ‘Bones’ has been holding out on accepting a fight against the interim champion Tom Aspinall until he is given an astronomical pay day. While some don’t believe he will be given the money he is looking for, others are offering almost double the rumored amount.
Since his move over to the PFL, a public debate has been ongoing between Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones for the best active heavyweight in the sport.
Posting his thoughts on social media, Professional Fighters League founder Donn Davis considers now the perfect time to make the biggest fight in MMA heavyweight history and is certain that Jones will make the money he is searching for by accepting the offer.
“I know one way [Jon Jones] earns $50 million,” Davis said during a post on X. “Francis Ngannou.”
“To decide the true MMA heavyweight champion and the real [pound-for-pound] #1. That would be THE fight of the decade for MMA fans.”

Many still view Francis Ngannou as the best heavyweight in the world. The powerhouse never lost his crown and instead decided to leave the company for pastures new two years ago.

While Donn Davis is likely right about fans wanting to see a blockbuster Jon Jones vs. Francis Ngannou affair, it has very little chance of happening.
Unless it benefits the UFC, Dana White doesn’t do business with rival promotions. Despite the demand from the consumers, White has already shot down the opportunity to pit the juggernauts together.
The UFC CEO will now focus on trying to match Jon Jones up with Tom Aspinall—a fight that’s filled with doubt but one he believes is going to happen.
