John Cena delivered his much-anticipated first heel promo on the March 17 episode of Monday Night Raw in Belgium. The 16-time champion addressed his shocking heel turn at the Elimination Chamber against Cody Rhodes.
Speaking to the crowd, he put the blame on them, saying they never get satisfied no matter what he does. He lashed out at all fans, including a kid standing in the first row.
The young fan Cena pointed at has gone viral on the internet since the event. While some are busy making memes about the kid, others criticize Cena for pointing at a child. But recently, the kid himself shared his thoughts about it.
John Cena Roasted a Young Fan on RAW
On last week’s Raw, Cena explained that he had been abused by the wrestling universe for over two decades, with fans always demanding more no matter how hard he worked.
Addressing the crowd directly, he lashed out at everyone and asked what they had ever done to support him. A kid wearing a red John Cena t-shirt shouted, “I love you!” But heel Cena showed no mercy and even roasted the poor kid:
“I don’t need you. I don’t care about you, and you don’t matter to me. Each one of you, even that little kid there, is part of a toxic, dysfunctional relationship,”
Cena, who kicked off this week’s Raw with another banger promo, reflected on the kid who had gone viral on the internet.
“Last week I put a clueless kid on blast. His poor pathetic face was everywhere. WWE posted it! And you all loved it,” he said.
He was interrupted by the crowd, who filled the arena with “F*ck you Cena” chants. He then asked who was worse—him, for always telling the truth, or the fans who use profanity and love to watch memes of a poor kid. He called them all horrible people.
The Viral Belgian Kid Feels Honored
The kid appeared heartbroken when he heard his hero roasting him. However, in a recent interview with TikTok user berko_wwe, he shared that he still considers himself a fan of Cena:
“Since I was four years old I have been a fan of John Cena. He’s been my hero for ten years now and he’s my favorite superstar. I paid to see him. When he pointed at me, it was a source of pride for me that he pointed the finger at me because I didn’t know he was going to talk down to me. I understood he said toxic and dysfunctional, but it’s in his character as a heel, so I understand. For me, John Cena is still my hero.”
Cena’s heel turn is undoubtedly the biggest thing that happened in the WWE universe recently. Whether fans love or hate the heel version of Cena, they are excited to witness what’s coming next in his feud with Rhodes.
