Former ladies’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk introduced her retirement following her UFC 275 knockout loss to present titleholder Zhang Weili in June 2022. Comfortable in retirement, there’s a state of affairs that will lure Jedrzejczyk again to the octagon.
Fellow former strawweight titleholder Jessica Andrade would love a rematch in opposition to Jedrzejczyk and Jedrzejczyk could be open to it if the “BMF” belt is on the road.
“I’ve been speaking to Joanna and he or she mentioned she’d come again,” Jessica Andrade advised MMAFighting. “If it’s for this [BMF] belt, she would come again. I feel that will be an excellent battle. Joanna, or possibly Angela Hill, who by no means walks away from a battle and is all the time there combating everybody. Or Valentina [Shevchenko]. Any of these women could be nice, however I feel it might be particular if it’s Joanna. It will be higher.”
“[Jedrzejczyk] mentioned she would battle at 125, not at 115, and that will be even higher for me as a result of I really feel nice on this division as effectively,” Andrade continued. “I wouldn’t be too affected by the load loss or any of that. I feel we might placed on a present and do an unbelievable battle, and I’d get that one again.”
Jędrzejczyk held the ladies’s 115-pound title from March 2015 till November 2017. Andrade final fought at UFC 300 in April, defeating Marina Rodriguez through break up resolution.
