Jimmy Gressier has been quite busy this past month. He set an NR at the 5,000m short track of 12:54.92, both ER and French record on February 14, 2025. On Feb. 8, at Millrose, Jimmy had run 7:30.18, also a French Record. This sub 13:00 on the roads destroyed his previous ER of 13:12!

Gressier 12:57 WL/ER, Meshesha 14:30 WLLILLE (FRA, Mar 16): France’s Jimmy Gressier smashed his European 5km record with 12:57, world lead, in Lille to move to equal fifth on the world all-time list. Gressier previously held the record jointly with 13:12 alongside Dominic Lobalu. Uruguay’s Santiago Catrofe was second in a big South American record, also in 12:57, with former European cross country champion Yann Schrub from France third in 13:00, well under the previous European record.

Slovenia’s Klara Lukan was the best European in sixth in 15:03 and Sofia Thogersen in tenth improved the Danish NR to 15:21. In other races, Ethiopia’s Asmarech Anley won the 10km in 30:34 by a clear margin from fellow Ethiopia Gela Hambese (31:15) with Türkiye’s multiple European champion Yasemin Can third in 31:16. Samya Hassan Nour was fifth in 31:53, a national record for Djibouti.
