Jasmine Paolini played back-to-back Grand Slam finals last summer working with coach Renzo Furlan.

Today, the sixth-ranked Paolini announced the partnership with her long-time coach Furlan has ended.

In an Instagram post, Paolini thanked Furlan for their “extraordinary 10 years together” and for the “unforgettable moments” they shared together.

“After 10 extraordinary years together, I want to say a huge thank you to Renzo Furlan for everything he has done for me,” Paolini posted on Instagram. “We have had an extraordinary journey, we have shared unforgettable moments, including an incredible 2024, the final at Wimbledon and Roland Garros, the Olympic gold in Paris.

“And in 2025 we have also started off great. Renzo has been a fundamental part of my growth, both as a player and as a person. Everything I have learned from him will always be with me and will continue to guide me in the future, and he will still remain an important person in this new chapter.”


Working with Furlan, Paolini attained a career-high rank of No. 4 last summer.

This announcement comes days after Paolini posted her best result of the year reaching the Miami Open semifinals.

The 29-year-old Italian defeated Rebecca Sramkova, Ons Jabeur, Naomi Osaka and Magda Linette to reach the Miami final four where she bowed to world No. 1 and eventual-champion Aryna Sabalenka.

Lat July, Barbora Krejcikova channeled the spirit of her beloved mentor, 1998 Wimbledon winner Jana Novotona, fending off feel-good story Paolini 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 to become the eighth different woman in the past eight years to win Wimbledon.

It was Krejcikova’s second Grand Slam singles title, coming three years after she defeated Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 in the Roland Garros final. This Wimbledon run should ensure former doubles world No. 1 Krejcikova’s status as a future first-ballot Hall of Fame champion given her entire body of work in singles and doubles.

The tournament also solidified status in a different way: Paolini was the People’s Champ of this Wimbledon fortnight, and won a legion of fans for her grit and a smile that seemed to spread from Centre Court all the way down to the Southfields Station on Church Road.
