Jakobi Meyers Expresses Desire To Stay With Raiders Long-Term

The Las Vegas Raiders have one of the most intriguing young core of skill position players in Brock Bowers and Ashton Jeanty, so it’s easy to forget about steady veteran players like Jakobi Meyers.

Meyers is often considered one of the most under-the-radar wide receivers in the league, as he doesn’t have the flashiest game on the field but still finds ways to produce. Meyers recorded his first 1,000-yard season during the 2024 season and, more impressively, didn’t drop a pass, which speaks volumes about how reliable he is as a target.

Brock Bowers should lead the Raiders in targets next season, but Meyers should be right behind him as the team’s undisputed No. 1 wide receiver. Bowers is a mismatch nightmare for defenses due to his size and speed, which should open up room for Meyers to operate both inside and outside the lines.

Meyers and Las Vegas have mutual interest in a contract extension, and the wideout expressed how much he wants to remain with the organization via Paul Gutierrez of Raiders.com:

“Yeah, I want to be here, for sure,” he said. “But that’s all I could really say on it right now. That’s business between us and the top floor. So, I’m just going to hold that one down for now.”

Although the Raiders have struggled over the years, Meyers has been able to really come into his own as a player in the league and is primed to break out even more in 2025. Geno Smith will be the best quarterback Meyers has played with since coming to Las Vegas, so he should have more opportunities to come down with passes and make plays.

At 28 years old, Meyers is certainly worth investing in as the Raiders continue to retool the roster and get back into playoff contention. He might not ever reach star status in the league, but the team needs to keep good offensive pieces around to establish their style of play and identity.

It will be interesting to see whether or not the two sides can come to an agreement before training camp.

Josh Jacobs names Jakobi Meyers as most underrated teammate in Las Vegas

Green Bay Packers star Josh Jacobs made a name for himself when he was with the Raiders and got a chance to play alongside Jakobi Meyers. When asked who his most underrated teammate was in Las Vegas, Jacobs almost immediately named Meyers.
