Jadon Sancho “very close” to accepting Juventus’ proposal after Man United agree to exit – Man United News And Transfer News

Jadon Sancho is “very close” to agreeing terms with Juventus after Manchester United accepted a €25 million offer from the Serie A powerhouse, according to a report from Italy.

The Red Devils are desperate to shift Sancho this summer after Chelsea chose to pay a £5 million penalty fee to opt out of their obligation to sign the 25-year-old winger at the end of his loan at Stamford Bridge.

This means he will return to Old Trafford this month with neither the player nor the club having any interest in including him in Ruben Amorim’s pre-season squad next month.

But Sancho has, thus far, appeared unwilling to compromise on his exorbitant wage packet with United – the crucial factor which ended negotiations with Chelsea, despite willingness from both parties to agree a permanent deal.

A move to Borussia Dortmund was mooted but the Bundesliga club are unable to match the financial demands involved in another return for their former star .

There is interest from Saudi Arabia, where clubs would have no trouble matching Sancho’s salary, as well as the Super Lig with Turkish tax laws enabling Galatasaray or Fenerbahce to offer a comparable figure to the one United are so keen to shift.

But Sancho appears more drawn to a move to Italy with Serie A rivals Napoli and Juventus both competing for his signature.

Italian football is played at a much slower pace with greater emphasis on tactical and technical demands in comparison to the breakneck speed of the Premier League.

And it’s this contrast in physicality which lends itself more favourably to the United winger’s profile, who has often cut a ponderous figure in England without the requisite intensity to thrive in the manner he did for Dortmund.

Sancho is thought to have said “yes” to a move to Naples while a report relayed by The Peoples Person revealed the winger was also set to enter talks with Juventus over a switch to Turin.

And Italian journalist Marco Giordano (Radio CRC – a broadcast station in the Naples are with a connection to Napoli) now reveals Sancho is “very close to accepting the contract offer” made by the Old Lady sporting director, Damien Comolli.

Giordana contends Juventus have tabled a €25 million (£21m) offer to United which has been approved by Old Trafford officials and confirmation of the deal is “possible next upon Comolli’s return to Europe.”

Translated Tweet: “Sancho-Juventus, the footballer is very close to accepting the contract offer made by sporting director Comolli. Manchester United has confirmed its approval of the 25 million offered. Closing possible next week upon Comolli’s return to Europe.”
