Liverpool are considering whether to make a move for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak in the summer, and according to TEAMTalk, the Sweden international is very open to the idea of moving to Anfield.
Isak has long been a target for Arsenal, who are desperate to boost their attacking ranks with a proper No. 9, but it seems the striker prefers Liverpool, considering the Merseysiders a safer bet regarding competing for the biggest trophies on a regular basis. The Magpies are believed to be aware of his desire to play at the highest level and have been trying to persuade him to sign a new contract on improved terms, but they’re yet to make any progress on that front.
Upon arriving to St. James’ Park in the 2022, Isak signed a six-year contract, which obviously means that there’s more than three years left on his current deal. It puts Newcastle in a position to demand a huge fee for his services, and even if Liverpool do make an official move, it remains to be seen if an agreement can be found.
