The Champions Trophy 2025 has entered into an exciting phase of action-packed cricket amongst eight nations. The second match of the tournament saw India and Bangladesh lock horns against each other at the Dubai International Stadium. Bangladesh had a dreadful start to the innings after they won the toss and elected to bat first. But the Bangladeshi innings was stabilized by Jaker Ali and Towhid Hridoy as they developed an important 6th wicket partnership of 154 runs.
Towid Hridoy hits consecutive sixes off Ravindra Jadeja
An important pillar of strength for Bangladesh batting line-up was Hridoy, who took the responsibility of carrying his team through on his shoulders and played a power-packed innings against India. The pinnacle of his strength and batting prowess was seen as he smashed consecutive sixes against Ravindra Jadeja in an emphatic manner.
The incident occurred during the 38th over of the innings as Jadeja came in search of a crucial wicket for India to break the already built partnership between the two batters. However, Hridoy had plans of his own as he managed to sail through an incoming full-length ball on the off-side to hit a towering six, followed by an emphatic shot on the on-side to hit another big one which went even further ahead than the first one. The consecutive sixes pushed Jadeja back as he followed a more conservative approach to see the end of his over.
Hridoy played an instrumental innings for his team and carved a heroic knock for Bangladesh to score his maiden ODI century. The middle-order batter saw his team through till the near end and was sent back to the pavilion by Harshit Rana after he played a 100-run knock off 118 balls to bring Bangladesh back into the game.

Bangladesh post a competitive total
With the help of a century from Hridoy, a 68-run knock from Ali and contribution from Rishad Hossain towards the end, Bangladesh managed to put together a total of 228 runs in 49.4 overs. This was a major swing after the entire Bangladeshi top-order crashed in front of an onslaught from the Indian bowling unit. For India, Shami had a stellar performance with the bowl as he took another 5-wicket haul in an ICC event. Rana and Axar Patel supported the Indian pacer from the other end taking 3 and 2 wickets for their side respectively.
