I’ve Always Gotten Along Better with Rafa Than Roger

Scott O’Neil, the new LIV Golf CEO, has been making headlines since taking over the position a few months ago. Handling that kind of responsibility isn’t easy, but O’Neil seems to be doing a great job so far, balancing things on multiple fronts.

Although many believe that he is directly involved in the merger negotiations between the PGA Tour and PIF, Scott points out that this is not true.

However, O’Neil stressed in a conversation with the media that if he can help this sport to grow, he is ready to do everything as an important figure on the Saudi-backed Tour.

Although the deal seems to be far from being realized, they keep their focus on the development of golf.

“If the deal can help grow the game of golf, I’ll jump in with two feet,” O’Neil said, as quoted by Nine.

“Do we have to do a deal? No. Is it nice to do a deal? So long as we’re all focused on the same thing, to grow the game of golf.”

Brooks Koepka

Brooks Koepka, also an important figure of LIV Golf, looked back on the negotiations between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, a little frustrated by the events so far, but he is optimistic that these two ‘warring’ parties will reach a final deal, and help the world of golf to stand firmly on its feet.

The experienced golfer changed a lot for himself by going to LIV Golf, but he is convinced that he made the right decision.

“I think we all hoped it would have been a little bit further along, and that’s no secret,” Koepka said.

“No matter where you’re at, you always hope everything is further along. But they’re making progress, and it seems to be going in the right direction.”

O’Neil surprised the fans of the controversial Tour by saying that he was impressed with the performances of the LIV players, stressing that they were more competitive off the course than he expected. In addition, LIV CEO aroused positive reactions, confirming that new sponsorship contracts are waiting for them soon, and it seems that this Tour intends to take important steps in the future.

Although they have not made the progress they expected in the last few years, the arrival of O’Neil could be an important momentum for fans of this story.
