West Indies‘ seasoned all-rounder Deandra Dottin has emerged as one of the biggest beneficiaries in the latest ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings update. Her triumphant return to international cricket has been nothing short of spectacular, as she continues to make significant strides across all three ranking categories in the shortest format of the game.

Deandra Dottin’s remarkable climb in ICC Women’s T20I rankings

Having only recently come out of retirement to participate in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, Dottin is rapidly climbing the global rankings, reaffirming her status as one of the most dynamic players in women’s cricket.

Dottin’s recent surge in the rankings comes on the back of an outstanding Player of the Series performance during West Indies’ 3-0 T20I series sweep against Bangladesh. The Caribbean side was dominant throughout the series, and Dottin played a pivotal role in securing their clean sweep. Across the three matches, she amassed a series-best total of 110 runs, showcasing her power-hitting ability and consistency at the crease. This exceptional batting display has propelled her 26 places up in the latest T20I rankings for batters, allowing her to move just outside the top 10, now positioned at an equal 11th place.

Smriti Mandhana continues to shine

The batting charts continue to be led by Australia’s Beth Mooney, but Dottin’s meteoric rise puts her within touching distance of breaking into the elite top-10 club. Smriti Mandhana continues to shine in the top 5 of the Women’s T20I rankings, holding onto her third position with a rating of 753, which equals her career-best against the West Indies in Mumbai, 2024. Australia’s Beth Mooney leads the chart with a rating of 785, matching her career-best performance against England in Adelaide, 2025. Tahlia McGrath, also from Australia, follows closely in second place with a rating of 754, having achieved a career-high rating of 827 against India in Mumbai, 2022. West Indies’ Hayley Matthews holds the fourth spot with 743, just shy of her career-best rating of 752, achieved against Bangladesh in St Kitts, 2025.

Qiana Joseph and other West Indies players make significant progress

Dottin isn’t the only West Indian player making headlines in the rankings update. Her compatriot Qiana Joseph has also made remarkable progress in the T20I batting rankings, climbing 27 spots to reach the 29th position. Joseph’s success can be attributed to her 92-run contribution in two innings against Bangladesh, which played a crucial role in West Indies’ series dominance. Her rise reflects the growing strength of the Caribbean side’s batting unit.

Another experienced West Indian, Afy Fletcher, has also benefitted from the latest rankings update. The veteran all-rounder has moved two places up to 23rd in the all-rounder rankings, further strengthening West Indies’ presence in this category. But perhaps more significantly, Fletcher has also made major gains in the T20I bowler rankings. The 37-year-old leg-spinner played a crucial role in her team’s bowling attack against Bangladesh, picking up four wickets across the three-match series. This performance has pushed her up two places to 12th overall in the T20I bowling rankings, making her one of the biggest movers in the latest update.

Bowlers also rise in the rankings

While West Indies dominated the series, Bangladesh’s bowlers also managed to make significant progress in the ICC rankings. Spinner Rabeya has climbed four places to 14th after an impressive series where she claimed three wickets. Meanwhile, Fahima Khatun made a notable jump of six places to reach 35th, and Sultana Khatun surged 20 spots to 74th, marking a substantial improvement for the Bangladeshi bowling unit. However, despite these movements, England’s Sophie Ecclestone continues to hold onto her position as the No. 1 ranked T20I bowler in the world.
