Conor McGregor’s list of victories (and crimes) outside of the Octagon continues to grow more extensive.
A couple days ago, footage emerged of the UFC superstar dropping a nightclub patron at the famous Pacha club in Ibiza, Spain. The former double champion is no stranger to conflicts outside of the cage, having allegedly punched a DJ in Rome in addition to the infamous old man in the bar incident.
Initially, there were very few details regarding the latest Mac attack. However, a recent since-deleted social media post from Ibiza-club owner Wayne Lineker — who does not own Pacha itself — has added a few details. Per Lineker, the victim is a man named Joe Gomez, a close friend and employee of Lineker.
“[Gomez] is my very close friend who has worked at Ocean for eight years, he has the most special heart and in all of the years that I’ve known him he has never raised his voice once,” Lineker wrote on Instagram (via The Sun). “He took two punches from Conor McGregor in Pacha for absolutely no reason.”
“He took the punches like a champion,” Lineker added. Lineker, a McGregor fan, had posed for a picture with the Irish star earlier in the evening and expressed severe disappointment in his latest antics. That said, Lineker isn’t expecting charges to be pressed.
“Joe’s fine and there was no injury from the punches,” he explained. “It was obviously a shock, and he feels he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
McGregor, 36, hasn’t fought in almost four years, suffering a nasty leg break (watch here) in his trilogy match up against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, He’s been talking about a return to action for years now, but after the broken pinky toe incident, his future remains extremely uncertain.
One wonders if this latest assault is likely to harm his presidential campaign?
