Colombia’s Camila Osorio has just completed another triumphant run in front of her home fans after ousting world No. 223 Katarzyna Kawa 6-3 6-3 in the Bogota final.

The Colombian tennis star, who was seeded at No. 2, realized five of her 10 break point opportunities and also once got broken twice in en route to sealing the win in just less than an hour and a half of play.

Osorio now has three WTA titles in her collection. And the interesting thing is that all of those three wins came in the same tournament – the WTA 250 tournament in Bogota. The 23-year-old made it all the way on the clay courts of the Colombian event for the first time in 2021 and also won the tournament last year.

On the other side, Kawa – who won two qualifying matches to make the Bogota main draw before winning another four matches to reach the title match – was playing in her second WTA final. Her previous final came in 2019, when she ended as runner-up to Anastasia Sevastova in the Jurmala final.

Despite the loss in the Bogota final, it was still a positive week for the 32-year-old Pole, who will improve 67 spots with this run and be ranked at No. 156 on Monday.

How Osorio beat Kawa?

Early in the match, the second seed blew a break but earned another in the fourth game. In the rest of the set, the Colombian faced a total of five break points but saved them all to bag the opener.

Then, Osorio made an outstanding to the second set and opened a 3-0 lead with back-to-back breaks. Kawa managed to get one break back and reduce the deficit to 3-5 at one point. However, the home favorite stayed calm and broke the Pole once again in the ninth game, when the qualifier was serving to stay in the Bogota final.

It was the first meeting between Osorio and Kawa.
