When the UFC 306 primary occasion concludes on Sept. 14 on the Sphere in Las Vegas, former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo believes UFC CEO Dana White can be placing the belt across the waist of a brand new champion.

UFC 306 is headlined by a bantamweight title bout between champion Sean O’Malley (18-1, 1 NC) and high contender Merab Dvalishvili (17-4).

“That is my prediction,” Cejudo instructed MMA Junkie. “Merab Dvalishvili goes to cease Sean O’Malley on the Sphere. He’s going to beat him. He’s going to both 50-45 him, perhaps not 50-45 as a result of he could lose the primary two rounds or the primary one a minimum of. He’s going to beat him, however as soon as Umar (Nurmagomedov) is available in, he’s simply going to have his method with Merab. He actually is. Umar is basically good, actually technical.”

O’Malley captured the 135-pound title by defeating Dvalishvili’s teammate, Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292 in August 2023.  He efficiently defended the belt at UFC 299 in March, avenging a earlier loss to Marlon Vera in one-sided trend. Dvalishvili is driving a 10-fight successful streak and has been the highest contender within the division for a while however wouldn’t combat his coaching companion, Sterling.  “The Machine” hasn’t misplaced a combat since April 2018.
