Ferrari leaves Bahrain with some encouraging signs: the Maranello team’s best result of the season coincides with Lewis Hamilton’s growing optimism, finally experiencing a “sweet” feeling during Sunday in Sakhir.

Fifth place at the chequered flag in Manama brings a timid smile to Sir Lewis Hamilton’s face. The Ferrari driver, still working through some adaptation difficulties with the SF-25, felt better sensations on Sunday in Bahrain.

“I’m really working hard with the guys to get on top of the problems I’m having with the car,” explained the Brit in a video posted on the Prancing Horse’s social media. “But there are clearly some positives in this Bahrain GP: the pit stops were fantastic, the guys in the garage are doing a great job and everyone at the factory pushed hard to bring this update to Sakhir. Thanks to the whole team that keeps pushing and never gives up.” – the seven-time Formula 1 world champion explained.

That “sweet” middle stint gives Lewis Hamilton hopeDuring Sunday’s race in Bahrain, Sir Lewis was able to savour for the first time an aggressive SF-25. The Ferrari cars of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton found “a really sweet spot” during the second stint in Bahrain, which was abruptly interrupted by the Safety Car. “It was great to get a good start and finally be able to fight. That helps build my confidence in the car. Being able to attack in that middle stint was fantastic. The car was in a really sweet window—now I need to aim to replicate that feeling every weekend.” – the British driver pointed out.

During the second stint, the Maranello cars were even lapping faster than the McLaren cars, with Charles Leclerc eventually overtaking Lando Norris.

“I also understood the importance of adopting a good setup from the start of the weekend, like we did in China, without straying too far from that. I learned a lot from this weekend and I’ll carry those lessons into the coming races. Let’s not stop and let’s not give up—go Ferrari!” concluded #44 from Stevenage.
