Zimbabwe to host Sri Lanka for limited-over series

Last week, golf influencer Brad Dalke went onto The Scratch Golf Show for an interview.  There, he let it be known that he has been encouraged to try out for a Tour Card.  With that said, what are Dalke’s plans?

Brad Dalke: History In PGA and Becoming A Content Creator

If Brad Dalke were to try to go pro again, it wouldn’t be the first time.  He was originally in the US Amateur Open in 2016.  While there, he managed to secure an invite to both the Masters and the US Open for 2017.  Unfortunately, he missed the cut for both those events and never earned his Tour Card.

Defeated, he turned to YouTube to do what he loves for a growing audience in a growing niche, made famous by felling golf influencers Rick Shiels and Grace Charis.

In 2020, he started a YouTube channel with some friends called Good Good.  There, he found success with his challenge-style videos, hosting events, and touring unique courses.  The channel has 1.77 million subscribers and regularly brings on some pro players to spice things up.

The Scratch Golf Show Interview

Between his brief history with the PGA Tour and his influence online, he gets some attention.  He went onto the small-time golf show for an interview.  He admitted that a number of pro PGA players are trying to push him back onto the Tour.

“I’d say right now, I am more on the full-time content creator that can still play golf well, and if I have some opportunities, then great. I have been kind of getting the fire in the belly to play a bit more competitive stuff,” Dalke said. “I saw in a span of two weeks – Joel Dahmen, Sahith Theegala and Jason Day and all three of those guys told me I need to start playing pro golf again. That will get the fire going again.”

During this interview, he floated the possibility of himself going pro, but hasn’t fully committed to that.  Acknowledging that he might have the skill, the confidence to go up against the ‘big boys of the sport’ leaves some room to develop.  The pressure of Tour competitions and  major events combined with the prospects of leaving his show that he loves dearly, might prove the deciding factor.

“We will see what the future looks like. It’s tough because I am fully committed to Good Good, I have fun doing these trips and want to make sure I can be on every single trip or at least 95% of them, so with the pro schedule it would be tough if I started going that way, so we would have to figure things out.”

What’s Next For Dalke

Brad Dalke still seems to yearn to be on that podium next to players like Rory McIlroy, Jason Day, and Tiger Woods.  He also wants to stay on Good Good doing his own thing.  The perfect path for him would be to find a balance between the two.  He could try getting onto events as an alternate like the rookie Danny Walker, but that is no guarantee, as Bryan Wesley found out the hard way.  However, the Creator Classic might be the best path forward for Dalke to go pro—whether or not he does, remains to be seen.
