Kevin Lee got annihilated in training.
The former UFC welterweight, who is expected to make his MMA return later this year under the GFL banner, can be seen getting dropped by his sparring partner after attempting a half-hearted flying knee — not unlike that time Andrei Arlovski went to the grave opposite Fedor Emelianenko.
Not surprisingly, “Motown Phenom” has a problem with the footage going public.
“I don’t know who posted that video or why, but I’m heading right now to find out,” Lee wrote on Twitter. “I can only blame myself for showing mercy and pulling my knee back but it’s training so I thought, ‘let me not blast him.’ I see I shouldn’t have been playing around with a guy like that. Since mfs wanna start showing sparring, I’m gonna start showing sparrings from now on.”
Hopefully this leaked video is not another manipulative attempt at “mind control.”
Lee, 32, parted ways with UFC in the wake of his Rinat Fakhretdinov loss in summer 2023, but got back into the win column with a submission victory over Thiago Oliveira as part of the Lights Out Championship 17: “Alsaghir vs. Vo” fight card last fall.
“Motown Phenom” holds a professional record of 20-8 with three knockouts.
