James Harden Was Focal Point In Recruiting Bradley Beal To Clippers

The GBCA Boys Georgia Live event is a key summer opportunity during the NCAA’s June Scholastic Live Period for college coaches to scout the best talent in Georgia in one location.

Alexander (Douglas County, Ga.) performed exceptionally well, securing the title in the Purple Division, which featured numerous state champions and state runners-up from last year. Hillgrove (Powder Springs, Ga.) also made a significant impression by winning the Orange Division in a highly competitive bracket.

GBCA Live featured 160 teams in 10 different brackets and was a terrific exposure event as Georgia teams prepare for the GBCA Boys SE Live event (June 27-29), highlighted by the top teams across the Southeast Region.

During the weekend, several players gained increased their recognition and recruitment with NCAA college coaches, with many receiving offers after their four games. The following 10 players were arguably the ones that help themselves the most during the first June Iive weekend.

GBCA Live Stock Risers(listed alphabetically)

Solomon Bratton, Milton (Ga.) 6-7 2027Offers: Jacksonville State, Georgia State, Kennesaw State

Bratton displayed a wide array of talent over the weekend as the catalyst for his team, leading to a second-place finish in the Orange Bracket. Bratton displayed his size and length throughout all four games, which allowed him to get to his spots on the offensive end. With a high motor and loud voice, Bratton was a leader on the defensive side, using his size against smaller guards and his strength against bigs. Bratton led Milton on both ends, which led to multiple offers over the weekend.

Xavier Butler, North Cobb Christian (Kennesaw, GA) 6-8 2027Offers: none.

Butler may be the least known player on this list, but he made a strong impression over the weekend and expect him to get an official offer soon. He played a crucial role for his North Cobb Christian team, consistently making winning plays on both ends. Butler is a powerful player who excels in transition, able to finish at the rim or pull up with a smooth shooting touch. He can effectively play with his back to the basket, showcasing exceptional footwork and strong finishing skills. Despite his larger stature, Butler can secure defensive rebounds and initiate the fast break.

Gregory Dunston Jr., Alexander (Douglas County, Ga.) 6-2 2026Offers: Tennessee Tech, Texas State, Kennesaw State, Chattanooga, Stetson

Dunston is a score-first guard known for his smooth shooting and quick first step. Over the weekend, he led his team to a division title and established himself as one of the top players in Emerson. With a tight handle and high basketball IQ, Dunston effectively reaches his scoring spots and consistently makes shots at a high percentage. He demonstrates excellent pace and composure, evidenced by his crucial shot in the final 10 seconds against Newton, which propelled his team to victory. Dunston is rapidly rising his stock and is recognized as one of the premier scorers in the state.

Jordan Green, Newton (Covington, Ga.) 6-6 2026Offers: Charleston Southern, Stetson, Georgia Southern, East Carolina

Green is a rangy, athletic player who effectively utilizes his strengths on offense and defense. Offensively, he is efficient with his back to the basket, demonstrating excellent touch around the rim. Green can also stretch the defense with a smooth mid-range jumper and a quick first step when driving to the basket. Defensively, he serves as an anchor for his team, often cleaning up missed shots and using his vocal leadership to guide his teammates. Green demonstrates a versatile skill set, blocking shots on one end of the court while also getting out in transition to finish strong at or above the rim on the other end.

Manny Green, Cedar Grove (Ellenwood, Ga.) 6-6 2026Offers: Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, Indiana, Missouri, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Cincinnati, Grambling, Georgia State

Green is ranked among the top 100 wings in the class of 2026, and he showcased his skills over the weekend. Just as he was at the recent Pangos All-American Camp, Green was a standout performer, demonstrating impressive physical attributes on the court. He is an elite athlete who plays with strength and power on both ends. Green excels both on and off the ball, leading fast breaks and scoring from various spots on the floor. His ability to stretch the floor with knockdown shooting makes him a challenging matchup for opponents. Defensively, he is a force, consistently grabbing rebounds and blocking shots effectively. Additionally, he effectively switches onto guards, highlighting his versatility as a defender.

Jarvis Hayes Jr, Woodward Academy (College Park, Ga.) 6-4 2027Offers: Georgia Tech, Auburn, Olé Miss, Cincinnati, FSU, Clemson

Hayes Jr. is a top 40 rising talent in the class of 2027 and had an impressive performance during the first scholastic live period. He is a smooth and quick guard with the ability to score rapidly. Throughout the weekend at Lakepoint, Hayes showcased his high-level athleticism and a score-first mentality. He was a tough shot-maker, hitting shots from all over the floor, often over defenders. Hayes averaged 22.2 points per game over the weekend and had the highest single-game total in Emerson, scoring 42 points in a loss against Jonesboro.

Asa Montgomery, Hillgrove (Powder Springs, Ga.) 6-6 2027Offers: Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Auburn, Florida State

Montgomery emerged as one of the top stock risers at the GBCA Live event, showcasing impressive growth and talent on both ends of the court. He was pivotal in leading Hillgrove to a team title, demonstrating leadership throughout the competition. A versatile and athletic player, Montgomery excelled as a defensive stopper both at the rim and on the boards, while also effectively facilitating the offense as a primary ball handler. His shooting skills were noticeably improved, allowing him to keep defenses honest with a three-level scoring attack throughout the weekend.

Banks Pourchier, North Oconee (Bogart, Ga.) 6-8 2026Offers: Stetson, Tennessee Tech

Pourchier is a strong, athletic man with a high motor on both ends. Pourchier displayed a great voice and played hard on both ends of the floor for his North Oconee team. While his team didn’t have much success over the weekend, Pourchier stood out as a big stock riser, pulling in multiple offers. The ability to play with his back to the basket and stretch the defense and knocking down the mid-range, Pourchier proved a matchup nightmare. He also rebounded well and finished above the rim multiple times via the put back or off lobs.

Jerrin Samuel, Winder Barrow (Winder, Ga.) 6-5 2027Offers: Mercer, Tennessee Tech, Georgia Southern, Marshall

Samuel showcased his versatility as a leader for the Winder-Barrow team, which finished the weekend with a record of 3-1. Samuel is a smooth, long, left-handed guard capable of scoring from all three levels. He averaged 25 points per game over the weekend, demonstrating his scoring ability. In addition to his offensive prowess, Samuel impacted the defensive end with intense on-ball pressure. He played aggressively, making crucial hustle plays that stopped opponents’ scoring runs or ignited scoring for his team.

Kingston Whitty, Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (Atlanta, Ga.) 6-2 2026Offers: Belmont, Northeastern, UIC, Loyola

Fresh off winning a state title last season, Whitty excelled this weekend as the go-to player for Holy Innocents. He is a quick and strong guard with impressive leadership skills. A reliable shooter, Whitty demonstrated his ability to score from all three levels, keeping the defense honest throughout the weekend. With one of the highest basketball IQs at Lakepoint, he controlled all four games from start to finish. An elite athlete, Whitty finished strong at the rim several times, igniting his team and contributing to key scoring runs. Considered one of the top guards in the state, he added multiple scholarship offers to his resume this past weekend.
