If he can stay healthy, Allen would fit perfectly on a contender like the Chiefs. Unfortunately, the 33-year-old pass-catcher has appeared in just 38 of a possible 58 games over the past three seasons and battled a heel injury for most of the 2024 season.
WR Amari Cooper
Up until the George Pickens trade, many expected Cooper to reunite with the Cowboys in 2025. Cleveland traded the 10-year veteran to the Bills last year, but the move did nothing for his stat line. Cooper had 24 catches for 250 yards and two touchdowns in six games for the Browns and 20 catches for 297 yards and a pair of scores in eight games with Buffalo.
On the other hand, Cooper’s 14.9 yards per catch average as a Bill tied his career-high mark, and, for the right price, he could offer insurance to a team that lost a top-flight receiver like the 49ers.
WR Gabe Davis
Of course, San Francisco could also consider adding Davis, a fourth-round pick of the Bills in 2020. The 26-year-old had just 20 catches for 239 yards and two scores with the Jaguars in 2024 but missed the last six games of the regular season after suffering a knee injury in Week 11.
Prior to last year, Davis missed just three games in four seasons while averaging 40.7 catches for 682.5 yards and 6.7 touchdowns with Buffalo.
During an appearance on “Good Morning Football,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted Davis on a visit but ultimately didn’t sign him due to health concerns.
Davis signed a three-year, $39M contract with Jacksonville last offseason but his $1.5M salary and $10M option bonus were fully guaranteed for 2025. Look for him to sign a one-year, team-friendly deal once his knee is finally healthy.
CB Rasul Douglas
Douglas joined the league as a third-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017, starting five games as a rookie on the way to winning a Super Bowl championship, the team’s first. He spent three years with the team before playing for Carolina, then Green Bay, which traded him to Buffalo in 2023.
He had 87 tackles, four interceptions and a touchdown in two seasons with the Bills but became expendable once the team signed Kentucky CB Maxwell Hairston in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The 31-year-old defender has recently been linked to the Vikings after the team allowed the fifth-most passing yards per game (242.0) in 2024.
If not Minnesota, another team will surely find room for a player with Douglas’ experience before the start of the 2025 regular season.
