The cars are getting ready to return to the track for the second day of testing at the Sakhir circuit. Follow the LIVE coverage of Day 2 of the F1 pre-season tests in Bahrain: the LIVE updates of the morning session.

With the first day on track in Manama behind them, the teams are immediately preparing to get back to work. At 8:00 AM on Thursday, February 27, the cars will return to the track for Day 2 of the F1 Tests in Bahrain, with LIVE coverage starting at 7:55 AM.

LINE-UP – During the morning of the second day in Bahrain, as on Wednesday, Ferrari will send Lewis Hamilton out on track. McLaren has made the same choice, starting Day 2 with Oscar Piastri. Liam Lawson will spend the entire day in the new Red Bull, while Mercedes will switch driver roles compared to the first day. In the morning, George Russell will take the wheel, with Antonelli’s turn coming after lunch.

Bahrain F1 Test – What happened on Day 1?The teams will take their cars back on track after an unusual first day in Manama. The Bahrain circuit welcomed the cars with unexpectedly low temperatures for the location. On Day 1 – and similar conditions are expected for the rest of the test – the thermometer hovered around 15°C. Additionally, strong winds made the work of drivers and teams more challenging, even bringing a few drops of rain.

At the checkered flag of the first day, Lando Norris topped the overall timesheet. The McLaren driver finished the session in P1 with a time of 1:30.430, ahead of Russell and Verstappen.

For Ferrari, the first day on track involved various experiments on the SF-25. Initially unstable and nervous with Hamilton, the car found better balance in the afternoon with Leclerc. Among the top teams, Ferrari appears to be the one with the most significant updates, and fully exploring the new car in every area—testing different adjustments—seems to be the primary goal for the team in red.

Test times should, of course, be taken “with a grain of salt.” However, what emerges is a group of top teams that do not appear too far apart from each other.
